Indication for the Exam


77-year-old man arrives after a motorcycle accident with positive loss of consciousness. He had obvious facial trauma, but seemed neurologically intact.

Radiographic Findings


Lentiform hyperdense collection along the left frontotemporal convexity with mild mass effect.

Case 6b Indication for the Exam


19-year-old male presents after being kicked in the face by a bull. He had extensive trauma to the face with a Glasgow Coma Score of 5.

Radiographic Findings


He had crescentic hyperdense collection along the right frontal convexity compatible with acute subdural hematoma. There is mass effect and midline shift. The irregular area of hypodensity in the central portion of the hematoma is concerning for active bleeding (swirl sign).
